Paytm launches India's first Android PoS device - The Indian Wire

The PoS by Paytm has been given a cool mobile-like structure and design. Paytm claims that this new device is much more powerful than the Linux based devices which are being used now.

The firm says its PoS machine comes bundled with Paytm’s ‘Scan to Order’ service, which is slowly said to be gaining traction in places like restaurants and takeaway joints.

This device is enabled with integrated billing software, camera for QR scanning, and supports 4G SIM cards Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

Talking about its size and weight, it weighs 163 grams. The device is 12mm thick and has a 4.5-inch touch screen.

The smart POS device is integrated with the ‘Paytm for Business’ app to generate GST compliant bills and also to manage all transactions and settlements, said the company.

Paytm is aiming to invest Rs 100 crore on the distribution and marketing of these devices in the financial year 2021. Paytm said it will issue over two lakh devices within the next few months. These devices will generate over 20 million transactions per month.
